PERT- Procurement Executive Round Table

Sourcing IS Change Management

Top companies see the role of the Strategic Sourcing /Category Management professional of that of process leader, internal consultant and change agent. We will explore the significant change management issues associated with executing a Strategic Sourcing /Category Management process. The hypothesis presented is “the greatest challenges of Sourcing are internal”. Most of these challenges are also Predictable and Inevitable and can be addressed head-on by deploying change management strategies. A model for integrating change management strategies into your sourcing process will be discussed. We will also explore specific tools to help face the challenges and attendees will agree that the best Sourcing process in the world cannot be executed until internal resistance is identified and managed.  Attendees are expected to come prepared to discuss their biggest challenges and to share what has worked and what hasn’t for them.

Sourcing Professional Services

Most companies spend a significant amount on professional services and use these providers for both strategic projects and critical point needs.  In most cases, companies have an opportunity to improve the cost and value of these services in three key areas: 1) Definition, review and approval of proposed projects; 2) Sourcing of potential providers and 3) Ongoing management of the portfolio of providers.  Optimization in these areas can reduce annual spend by 10% – 50% while improving the quality of services received and the results generated.  These are sustainable benefits – not one-time reductions.  In addition, attendees will explore actual case studies that illustrate best practices in sourcing professional services.  Discussions will include pros and cons, as well as issues and challenges, of professional services outsourcing.  Attendees are expected to come prepared to discuss their biggest challenges and to share what has worked and what hasn’t for them.
