PERT- Procurement Executive Round Table

Are you struggling with how to deal with the potential and significant changes in Trade, Immigration and Foreign Policy? Don’t worry – so are a number of your colleagues. Join us to learn about the impact on Category Management and Supply Chain strategies (whether you buy goods OR services) or just manufacture offshore. We will also be identifying the opportunities for Sourcing/Supply Chain professionals to take on a leadership role on this topic in their companies – thus moving from a tactical to a strategic advisor role:

  • Flexibility and agility will become critical in your strategies and contracting
  • Currency fluctuations will be the norm
  • Existing trade agreements may give way to new ones which will significantly shift cost arbitrage
  • New regulations and tariffs will have an impact on lead times
  • On-shoring and near-shoring will become competitive again
  • Strategic Workforce Planning will need to incorporate new immigration and visa requirements – critical resources (Engineering, IT, etc.) may require new fulfillment strategies

Your ability to get in front of all these will position you in a new strategic leadership and strategic advisor role; not only for your function but for all other functions in your company.

Who Should Attend

This is a peer-to-peer organization and as such, you must be a Senior Procurement Executive (Director or above) within your organization to attend.

Guest Speaker

Lawrence M. Friedman, Partner
Barnes, Richardson & Colburn

Larry’s practice concentrates on the representation of the importers and exporters facing numerous issues of compliance with U.S. law, Larry advises clients on compliance with ITAR and EAR, sanctions, and other controls, including deemed exports of technical data.
Larry is currently President of the Customs and International Trade Bar Association and a member of the adjunct faculty of the Center for International Law at the John Marshall Law School where he designed and teaches classes on trade remedies, free trade agreements, customs litigation, NAFTA and other international trade agreements

Our kickoff session will be led by Lawrence Friedman who will discuss what he sees as the major changes that will impact what we source, where we source it from and how we source it. Things that we outsource may need to be insourced, our location decisions, whether our own facilities or suppliers will need to be re-examined and our contracting strategies will need to change drasticall and be much more flexible and transparent to manage a new risk profile.
